For the past few years I've spent at least one Saturday a month (sometimes two) at the beach in Santa Cruz with my friend Tiffany. Her husband is a fanatical beach volleyball player. We typically leave for Santa Cruz around 9:30am, arrive around 10:30am, sit on the beach and watch the volleyball players and chat.
When we go to the beach volley ball tournaments Tiff and I get a tan, and her husband and his friend get some exercise and take out their aggression on a small ball and the other team. The whole experience is rather entertaining.
We usually sit under the umbrella and read our magazines while they discuss the strategies of beach volleyball. Beach volleyball is a highly competitive sport. There are offensive and defensive strategies, jump serves, and other facets of the game I just don't understand. I've been told all of these things many many times....This is part of the reason, we sit under the umbrella and work on our tans....Darn I wish Santa Cruz had a cabana boy. Then I could order a mocktail.....
This year at the mid-singles conference we will be having a beach volleyball tournament during the afternoon. This will be the perfect time to mix and mingle with people on the beach. Guys, this will give you ample opportunity to show off your athletic prowess to a bevy of ogling females. Trust me it works, I've been admiring men playing beach volleyball for years. Though I don't understand many aspects of the game, I appreciate a cute guy playing beach volleyball. Girls--come and watch that cute guy you spied the night before at the luau....Hopefully he'll be out there getting his game on...This is where I plan on spending my Saturday afternoon...Watching cute guys, and getting a tan....Hope to see you there on the beach....
