Bay Area Mid-singles Conference 2009

We are well in to the preparations for the bay area mid-singles conference for 2009. This year's conference is going to be different from any other mid-singles conference that you have ever attended. We are shaking it up a bit. We decided to change our location to beautiful Santa Cruz California.

Santa Cruz is a picturesque beach city located a little over an hour south of San Francisco. Prior to his 24 fame, Kiefer Sutherland filmed a vampire movie called The Lost Boys. It is a campy vampire farce. I remember watching this movie on TV and thinking it was totally hilarious because of the crazy stuff Corey Haim and Corey Feldman did to hunt vampires. This movie was actually filmed on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (aka the boardwalk) and in surrounding locations.
Whenever I'm at the boardwalk, I try to remember which spots appear in the movie. I think about the characters walking up and down the boardwalk passing the carousel, the food stalls, and the famous Big Dipper, one of the oldest wooden roller coasters in the country. If you decide to be adventurous, you can act out scenes from the movie on Saturday. I just don't recommend taking motor cycles off the main staircase by the arcade...
The movie is very funny for me personally. The villain, Edward Herrmann, (he is also Rory Gilmore's grandpa) has a strong resemblance to my dad. I recommend watching The Lost Boys (edited with clean flicks of course) before you join us in Santa Cruz and when you get here, you can match the locations to the movie. Start planning your The Lost Boys parties today, so you'll be prepared for the conference...You never know, we may have a name that The Lost Boys location....competition on Saturday.
